The Brief “We had a look at all the photography businesses out there, and to be honest, they all looked the same! We want something completely different and if we can have a little fun with it, then all the better.” With the creative door wide open I set to work on my most complex logo to date. Drawing the character was great fun but the difficulty I faced was making sure he wasn’t to masculine and appealed to all demographics. So here you have it Nuzulu a cute little ninja with a camera.
EAST BOUND & DOWN – ILLUSTRATION
This is what happened when I took the neon colours, mistral type face and horizontal lines from the artwork used in the recent Drive movie and pitched it against the hilariously funny Kenny Powers from East Bound and Down.

Here is a lovely little logo I’ve done for a Cleaning company called Miss Buckets. The brief was simple the owner wanted and I quote “something that was going to bite her in the backside” (Must be a Northern saying?). With that in mind look how this little beauty scrubbed up?

Here are a handful of pages from this month’s edition of the Voice Magazine. 27,000 copies are distributed each month, the free publication covers everything from local news right through celebrity interviews.
SWAMP BEATS – ILLUSTRATION
With their usual designer missing in Goa – I hopped (bad joke) at the chance to do the artwork for the next Frogs in Socks EP which is being released on the mighty Fatboy Slims Record Label – South Fried Recordings. On most of the leading music store websites – thumbnails for these sleeves are often smaller than 100 pixels squared so its really important to make sure the information and design is clear in both large and small format. Good luck with the release lads!

HEISENBERG – ILLUSTRATION
Like the subject matter it covers I’m completely addicted to the TV series Breaking Bad. I cooked up this little illustration of Walter White aka Heisenberg using nothing but the purist blue Adobe Illustrator.
VIBRATE – WEBSITE
A single page site that was designed for the guys at Lot49. The brief was simple here’s the text and some photos do your thing. With a healthy balance of images and text things started to take shape quickly but I wasn’t happy with just putting text for a logo at the top, so I did a little something in illustrator. This project took me the best part of a working day to finish. I was really pleased with the results and the response I got from Mark that the page looked “very professional” and that he “loved” the logo.

Just finished a new logo for Highgrade Recruitment. These guys specialise in teaching jobs, nursery & support jobs for schools, nurseries and colleges throughout the Wales.
EATING OUT WALES – MAGAZINE
Eating Out Wales is a guide to some of the best the area has to offer. From fine-dining establishments to venues serving up modern European cuisine and traditional Welsh fare, here is a comprehensive guide, which accommodates every budget, taste and requirement. You’ll see a 100 page A5 magazine I recently designed. It was put together using Adobe Indesign CS2, Photoshop CS2. The only difficulty I had was browsing the pictures on an empty stomach. I think you’ll agree they are all mouthwatering.
GOTHAM VILLAINS – ILLUSTRATION
With the Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer out this week, it seemed only fitting to do a series of illustrations on some well known Gotham Villains.
CURB – ILLUSTRATION
I was recently bought season one of Curb Your Enthusiasm for my birthday and have been hooked since. Like anything that I become slightly obsessed with I always like to give a bit of a creative high five, or a tip of the cap! Adobe Illustrator was my weapon of choice, 5 hours later here are the fruits of my labour.
DWANGED – WEBSITE
Straight off the back of the Catapult Website I teamed up again with the very talented John Mitchell to create the front end of new website that allows building merchants to sell end of stock products at discounted rates. With the catchy name Dwanged a “Scottish Term” we set to work on a gumtree, ebay style, autotrader style website.
